Very Random PIcs

We have really great neighbors . . . and one of Joshua's favorites is Matt who lives across the street. Last week, he "rigged" up a way to pull Joshua's wagon!

OK . . . Bryan went online and saw some website that instructed you how to build a kite yourself dirt cheap. It uses plastic grocery bags and straws . . . and can you believe it . . . the thing actually flies! Amazing!

Last weekend we had a real treat . . . Jerry and Loreen were passing through the great state of KS and stopped by for an evening! They were even able to park their RV in front of the house!

Kayla's not exactly in a "overly friendly toward strangers" mode right now . . . so this was pretty amazing!

And for all you interested parties . . . uh . . . yeah . . . we're still working on the potty thing!

Kayla's 9 months

Happy 9 months, Kayla!

Last week we went to visit Great Grandma who is in a rehab hospital for breaking her pelvis. She had a helium balloon which kept Joshua busy the whole time! Kayla is in a "I only want Mommy stage" so it was pretty amazing that Great Grandpa even got to hold her! There are 91 years between them -- amazing!

It's Hot!

Like much of the country . . . it's been hot! I think it's been over 100 the last week . . . but thankfully, one of our neighbors has a very nice inground pool that he opens up to the neighborhood. It is so convenient to load the stroller and be able to cool off! And . . . Joshua just loves going to the "big pool." I'm afraid that our little kiddie pool just won't cut it anymore!

It's not uncommon to have 15 - 20 people -- mostly families with little kiddos!

Do ya think Joshua has enough flotation devices on?

Priceless isn't it? And no . . . I haven't cleaned my window lately!

The One and only Jackson County 4-H Parade!!!!

I tell you . . . it's the highlight of the summer! When Joshua heard me mention on the phone that we were going to the parade, he started saying, "throw candy." And then . . . he started saying "popcorn" (I thought) and then I FINALLY realized he was trying to say "Pumpkin" . . . obviously associating the stash of candy from Halloween with this parade. Amazing! So . . . we were the only losers who brought our Halloween pumpkin to the 4-H parade!

The much-anticipated Varco Motors parade entry! Ryan was driving it!

And the convertible was advertising Varco West!

Unfortunately, not all of the entires/floats made it to the end . . . it was a bit warm and they overheated! I'm telling you . . . life isn't complete until you've been to the Jackson County 4-H Parade!

Our little kiddos!

The noon time ritual is for Joshua to play "Peek a boo" with Kayla while I clean up . . .it's great!

Yes . . . Kayla has been helping me clean my floors!

How cute is that?
