Spring Break, 2013

The kids had Spring Break this past week, so we made a two-day trip up to Omaha.  When we planned it originally, they were calling for warmer weather . . . it was a little daunting to see 32 degrees on the van thermometer as we arrived at the zoo!

Thankfully, there were some indoor areas that made it manageable!

Just chilling with the orangatain!

We had a mid-day "snack" -- gotta love $4.00 hotdogs from the zoo:)

The penguin exhibit was super cool -- neat to see them diving under the water right in front of us!

This was the bridge in the jungle . .  it was a little wobbly -- especially for Kayla when some high school boys were intentionally rocking it while she was still on it!  The kids were a little put off by the smell:)

Definitely a forced "photo-op" -- it was REALLY chilly by this point!

So, we decided to change things up a bit and hit the movie theatre.  We SCORED with this particular theatre -- the recliner seats were AWESOME -- not bad for $5 matinee tickets to see the Lego movie! Mommy "might" have taken a quick power nap and then spent the
remainder of the movie "catching up!"

The pool -- always the best part!  No actual pics of the pool,  but there's nothing like a family game of "marco polo!"

. . . and then fighting who gets to push the buttons on the elevator!

Since we were all about keeping plans flexible because of the weather, we hit the Moon Marble Factory on the way back home -- and it was pretty fun!

We've never see anything like this -- but to watch him make a marble was pretty intriguing!

We were home for a couple days, and then we took off for Mom and Dad Varner's for some chill time!  We got to see my brother's little guy for the first time!

Kayla was in her glory!  Don't have any pics, but the weather was really nice and we spent ALOT of time outside hitting baseballs, throwing baseballs, looking for baseballs, etc.:)  Great way to wrap up the week!
