Memorial Day Weekend and End of School!

We had a great time last weekend just regrouping as a family!
Spend some time near the lake . . .

Go Kayla!

Lots of curious onlookers!

This was a weird looking fish -- can you tell I am fish-illiterate????

They were smiling in the pool -- but it was REALLY cold:)

A little homemade ice cream:)

Enjoying the aforementioned home made ice cream!

Field Day at school!  I worked the ice cream station -- which happened to be right after the water soaking station -- so all of the kids came through sopping wet!

Kayla's class -- lots of smiles!

Yesterday was the last day of school!  Since so many other schools were out last week, it seemed like we went FOREVER!  Our district doesn't "build" any extra snow days into the schedule, so we paid for all of the "awesome" snow days this winter!  Joshua's last day of 3rd grade at Warren Hills!

Kayla's last day of 1st grade!  We had some "I don't want to leave my
teacher" tears the night before:(

Here was the pic on the first day of school . . .

 . . . and the last!

Next year we will have a 4th grader, 2nd grader, and Kindergartner!

So Tyler and I went grocery shopping while they were at school . . . and I totally had a breakdown "moment" at Price Chopper.  I am moving into a different season of
life with all the kids heading to school:(

After school, we hit a snow cone place with some neighbors/friends.
I guess this means we're officially ready for summer!

Happy Birthday Bryan!...and Tyler's last day of Preschool:(

Happy Birthday Daddy!  His birthday fell on a Wednesday (big rehearsal day) this year -- but he managed to sneak home for a few minutes to grab a quick meal with the family!  Nope -- no cupcakes -- just monster cookies!  The only thing people around here eat from cupcakes is the icing!!!!

"Opening his gifts" -- some more camping chairs so
we all actually have a place to sit!!!!!

What a goofball!

Tyler's card . . .

Kayla's card . . .

Joshua's card . . . he tried to make the letters use only Mario Bros "things!"

We "might" have taped these notes on Daddy's Durango so he would see
them when rehearsal was over!

And . . . sniff, sniff . . . Tyler had his last day of preschool this week:(  He transitioned so well to this preschool and we couldn't have been happier with the program!  Our last baby is done with preschool. Hard to believe. I thought I was fine until I was walking out of the church for the last time with my preschooler in tow . . . there "might" have been a few tears:(

Tyler with Miss Valerie

Tyler with Miss Summer -- these ladies were the best!  Thanks for getting
him all ready for kindergarten!

Play Ball for Kayla!

Kayla had her first game this week . . . and it was definitely a chilly one!  She is hitting off of a machine this year and has done really well with that transition!

Go Cubs!

I have slowly been working on Kayla's room for several months -- and this was the "before" right after we moved in!

She wanted purple paint again for the walls -- so purple it was!

This was the quintessential "how can I use spray paint and spice this up a bit" transformation!

She ended up with the largest room -- so she has plenty of room for "teaching" school, playing with dolls, etc.

Mother's Day Weekend

Kayla's class invited all the moms on Friday to a "Tea for Two" -- and it was super fun!

They sang come cute songs and then served us tea, lemonade and cookies!

Can you tell she she had a tooth that was begging to come out?  Jeepers!

Best part of this "card" -- the coupon vouchers in the back!  The teacher gave specific instructions that they were to USED/REDEEMED -- we'll see if that happens!

Tyler had his first tee-ball game on Saturday morning . . .man, I forget how stinkin' cute 5 year old boys can be!

This is Tyler playing catcher.  They were given instructions to be all the way against the backstop since they didn't have catcher gear -- except for a batting helmet.  Well, Tyler has seen the catcher remove his helmet TONS of times from being at J's games . . . so he kept removing his helmet after the batter hit the ball . . . and the coach kept telling him to put his helmet back on.  Kind of funny!

We got a pretty intense hail storm -- glad it was only nickel sized.

These ducks got confused and ended up in our yard -- we had to open the back gate
and assist them to get back to the water!

Joshua's has been given the task of mowing the lawn this summer with a
monetary award attached to the task . . . it's a lot of work, isn't it bud????

The kids have been BEGGING to go fishing and we just aren't home
many evenings right now.  So, Sunday evening we gave it a whirl . . .

. . . and we were surprisingly successful!

We ended up catching THREE fish -- amazing!

And the best part -- there was a team at church that set up some "photo op" places -- and I strongly suggested that I would like to get some pics with the kids!

My oldest . . .

 . . . and the youngest!

I am so blessed!

 Just keeping it real!

I don't why this is upside down . . . but Kayla made me a bracelet . . .

. . . and Joshua offered to make dinner on Sunday night . . . cheese quesadillas it was!

From Bryan -- a necklace with all their names on it.  What a great weekend!
