09 Family Camp

This is how our trip to family camp started . . . VERY EMPTY on fuel for at least 15 miles in south eastern KS -- thank goodness Thayer had a gas station! Anyway, we had a great time and the kids just loved it.

So, that MIGHT be Bryan using Kayla as a human shield in dodge ball . . . it's that competitive male thing, right????

After many attempts, Joshua finally worked up the courage to go down the slide . . .

and into the water! After he did it once, he couldn't get enough of it! Don't have a pic, but Kayla managed to jump off the diving board with her floaties on -- she's still telling anyone who will listen about it!

And this would be our smallest fish just out of the pool. BTW, he had his 4-month check up yesterday and is up to 16 lbs., 10 oz. (I keep having people ask me . . .)

Carrying on a very intense conversation with Miss Sandy.

Playing carpet ball

We let the kids pick which bed they wanted . . . and they both insisted on having a top bunk! In fact, Joshua even named that his favorite part about camp!

All smiles!

Kid activities!

Quite the crew, eh? I wish there was audio to go along with it .. . they were just giggling and cackling up a storm!

On the way home, we stopped at my grandparents, and Tyler chewed on his toes for the first time! So -- just had to document it! Now, we're home for a while and hopefully we can get into some kind of routine . . . .!

Trip to WI

Last week we took our summer trip to WI. Made the trip there during the night -- took 9 1/2 hrs. Made the trip back during the day . . . took 13 1/2 hours! Totally worth it, though!

This is Joshua's cousin -- could pass for brothers, eh?

We went to the Milwaukee lakefront and saw some paddle boats that looked like fun. However, the price was pretty steep, so we opted to do some paddle boats that were closer (& cheaper)! It was really chilly that day! (BTW, Tyler is not stowed in the back -- G/G kept him on shore!)

Daddy, Kayla, and Joshua

The classic self-portrait!

Went to an indoor water park near G/G -- the kids loved it. Once again, they kept Tyler!

Yes -- that's Joshua. He discovered the thrill of water slides and LOVED them!

On the porch at G/G's.

We stopped for a "picnic" at a park on the way home -- great chance to get out of the van! (Yes -- I was sure Tyler wasn't going anywhere!)
The ring pops from "Miss Carol" saved the day on the way back!

This and That

Daddy & Tyler

J & K

I think Tyler was a bit tired . . . what do you think?

. . . and his older brother!!!

Before we took off for WI, we went to the one and only Jackson County 4-H parade . . . certainly one of a kind! J & K were SOOO pumped about the candy -- notice them expectantly holding their bags!

Grandpa & Tyler

Cute float . . .

"Only in KS" float! Definitely won the creative award in our book!

Varco Motors float

Like I said . . . only in KS!
