Weekend Project II

I know all of you have been waiting with great anticipation on our next bonding project . . . ha, ha . . . and here it is. Bryan buried the gutter downspout things so that when he mows, he won't have to constantly be moving them.
(For the record, this was NOT a "honey-do" project . . . it was totally Bryan's idea!)

The kids thought it was great getting to watch him out the window!

Good thing Joshua was there to help! I think the mud factor was the most enticing element! There were three trenches to dig, and Bryan was really, really sore the next day!

Uh, yes . . .those would be the strawberries that Joshua was helping to "dig!"

Ladies and Gentlemen . . . the finished product. Impressive, eh?

Trunk or Treat

We just got back from our church's Halloween outreach . . .Trunk or Treat. It was a lot of fun and the weather was pretty mild for late October! Mom, sorry it took me two hours up on the web . . . I'll try to be more punctual next time!!!!

Kayla was a bunny rabbit (actually, pink footed PJ's and bunny ears on a headband!) . . . we were all SHOCKED that she tolerated the bunny ears. If you've been around Kayla at all you know that she's not exactly the most tolerant little girl!

And here's out little bag of popcorn! He was so cute! The only problem was that he was pretty constrained in the bag with the arm holes, so he required a lot of help just to get the candy in his pumpkin!

The Jungle Trunk

Aunt Bem and Uncle Steve went with us, which of course was a ton of fun! We came back home, had some pizza and just hung out for a while! What a great evening!

Wonderful Weekend Bonding!

The days of Joshua having free reign of the toys are OVER! Kayla likes to "help him" alot!

OK . . . this was our bonding project this weekend. My wonderful husband agreed to install some shelving this weekend for me! I know, it doesn't sound that exciting, but by utilizing the space more efficiently in the spare bedroom closet, I will be able to DRASTICALLY improve the clutter in the basement. So, hence the project!

Is this how you learned to cut boards in 4-H????

This picture isn't the FINAL product yet, but you get the picture. I am such a nerd . . . I can't wait to get everything labeled and organized!!!! Did I mention that I have a wonderful husband??? I hereby declare that this is the LAST project until after Christmas!

And, while Dad (and sometimes Mom) was busy with the closet project, the kids managed to keep busy in the playroom!!

Holy Cow . . .It's Been Forever!

My sincerest apologies to the three of you who are faithful blog-followers! One day just zips into another! But . . . here's the latest . . .

Our church had a Fall Fest. . . hay ride, corn maize (we opted out!), BBQ, etc. Mom was in IN, but Dad came for a little on his way back from MO. Never in a million years did I think that Grandpa would every get to go on a hayride with the kids. It was fun!

We hopped off the wagons to pick a pumpkin -- Kayla was impressed, don't you think?

Joshua was more impressed with the "shaker" -- the squash.
I guess he thought it looked like a maraca!

This is a pretty common before dinner scene at our house -- it's fun to have the neighborhood kids over -- most of the time:)

And our little baby . . . is now 11 months old! She's pretty fussy right now because she's cutting her 1-yr. molars, so I gave up on getting a "perfect" picture! That's about it from here -- I've been "Jungle-izing" the kid's bathroom -- more pics on that later. . . Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely Fall weather!
