Frozen Show and Soccer pics

This past summer, our kids, plus the kids across the street, plus their cousins came up with this idea to do a "Frozen Show."  They (especially the girls) were the instigators of everything.  So -- this past Friday was "Show Time!"  It was supposed to be outside on the driveway so the whole neighborhood could come (!), but since the temp was in the 50's . . . we literally would have been "frozen!"  Tyler and his buddy are the ice choppers in the pic above:)

Kayla was "Elsa" --her friend was "Ana."  I might also add that this particular song was rehearsed many time OUTSIDE with the karaoke machine in the driveway.  Am sure the neighbors loved it!

I don't like how old she looks in this pic . . . just sayin'.

Joshua and his buddy were supposed to only be the "Directors" -- but then decided at the last to have some musical contributions as well:)

"the bow"

The reprise -- complete with falling snow (torn-up tissues) by the stage manager:)

They even came up with all of these "post-show" games -- like shoot the ping pong ball through Olaf!

And pin the nose on Olaf!  It was a fun night!  The real kudos go to Alison -- the neighbor mom who had her house be the "staging ground" for several months with props lying everywhere!!!!

We are in the middle of soccer season around here!  This is the first time ANY of the kids have played soccer, so it's a new experience for us all!  Here is Tyler . . .

 . . . looking very intent:)

Tyler leading the pack!  It is so funny to see the young ones playing -- like one herd that moves together!  However, it's amazing how much they are progressed even in just a few weeks!

New experience for Joshua too!  He really enjoys his team and there are lots and lots of laughs throughout the practices the games!

This last game, Joshua had a really good goal kick -- it was a high kick and was deflected off the of the goalie's raised hands -- and it went in!  I don't think anyone was more surprised than Joshua!  Didn't get any pics of the kick, but here were a few celebratory pics!

So fun!

And here's Kayla!

They were short on team members this past week, so she played the entire game -- she was pretty pooped afterwards!

And this is what the younger kids do while the older ones play . . . they play "Duck Duck Goose" with only three people:)
