Quick Trip to St. Louis

At the last minute, we decided to make a quick trip to St. Louis to see my grandparents, uncle and aunt, and catch a sight or two. SHHHH . . . we let Tyler "turn around" in his car seat two weeks early . . . but it was SOOOO much easier on this trip! He was a happy camper to be facing the front!

It always amazes me how the kids warm up so quickly to grandma and grandpa (actually, their "great" grandparents). Kayla colored, while they finished their breakfast together. It's so fun to see their "routine" . . . I guess that's what happens when you've been married 70 years!

OK . . . so we decided to check out the "City Museum" yesterday. All in all, we had a great time (although I think the rest of St. Louis must have also been on Spring Break as it was VERY, VERY busy!). It was a very different museum -- abstract stuff, recycled stuff, etc. Kayla loved going down this slide! I tried it once and just about jiggled all of my fat right off. Second thought . . . I probably should have gone down it several more times!!!!

The dude crouching down in the middle . . . is Bryan! J & K were supposedly following him, but they chickened out and come back down. This re-bar, welded stuff was everywhere and you could climb anywhere in it. I think our kids would have enjoyed this part more if they were a bit older.

Always happy to be along for the ride!

This ball pit . . . was the hit of the day! I couldn't get them to look at me for anything, so this is the best I could do! This ball pit was for 6 and under, so it was perfect!

So much fun!

He wasn't sure what to think!

Miniature train ride -- the highlight for Joshua was the black lights in tunnel . . "Mom, it was amazing. My shirt glowed!"

Kayla's a tropper -- she's not afraid to try anything!

So . . . they had these steel/welded bridges outside too . . . and rather high up, I would say! Joshua and I went exploring, and I just about freaked when we got up here. And, this wasn't even the highest point! Not thinkin' the I want to start tight-rope walking anytime soon!

That white diagonal thing was the slide we got to go down after all of our harrowing, height-ascending bravery! This pic really doesn't give it justice -- we were really high! (or I'm just a wimp!)

I cant' believe I didn't get a good pic of the outside of this slide. This was a 3-story slide we all enjoyed going down multiple times! Go Kayla! Nice quick trip -- and I think everyone is excited to be in their own beds tonight! Happy Spring Break!
