Baptism!

Tonight we had our first Summer Baptism for 2012 -- and before the Baptism, we had a small kids choir that sang a few numbers for the Hymn Sing.  The director did a great job and even managed to get the three boys to sing one of the verses -- I was very proud of Joshua!

So, both Joshua and  Kayla decided on their own initiative that they wanted to get baptized this summer. It was very special for us to hear them tell their salvation story so we could dictate it for them.  They were towards the end of the line -- and did a great job waiting until their turn!

Yep, we even have train at Baptism -- it kept him entertained for a few minutes, anyway:)  -- until he found
the Skittle stash!

Bryan leading . . .

Getting ready to get down into the lake water -- Kayla was pretty nervous about this "unknown,"  Can't say that I blame her -- I'm not so keen on bodies of water that I can't see the bottom of . . .!

Both of them were great, though!

Joshua and Daddy waiting while his testimony is read . . .

Going down . . .

  . . and coming up!

And here is Kayla going down . . .

. . . and coming up!  Such a reason for celebrating  -- we pray that they grow to love Jesus more and more.

And last but not least . . . we MIGHT have resorted to using Daddy's phone (shhhh . . . don't tell!) to keep Mr. T. occupied at the end:)  We had lots of family there -- it was so, so special to have them there!

Day out with Thomas!

Last weekend we took in Day Out with Thomas!  This was Tyler's B-day present . .   . about 2 months late:)  He was so excited . . . but he kept asking beforehand if Percy, Gordon, James, etc. were going to be there too:)  It never hurts to ask, I suppose!  I don't think any of the kids have been "into" something as much as Tyler is into trains.  The boy knows his trains, for sure!  As soon as we got to the depot T kept saying, "I see Thomas!  I see Thomas!"  I guess he was OK that Thomas was a solo act for the day!

Here they are --  so excited to get to ride Thomas!  Note -- the "Thomas" part looked amazing . . . the other cars of the train . . . well, they were well-used:)  Still pretty fun to take a ride, though!

Our seven-year old!  We were so proud of Joshua that day -- even though most of the activities were geared for younger kids, he was a trooper and just went with it!

This was T's expression the entire train ride.  Very solemn.  Taking it all in.

And this is our 5-year old!  It was fairly chilly that day . . . so were all ready to huddle together
during the breezy train ride!

Goofy boys!

K & T with Sir Topham Hat -- Tyler wasn't quite sure what to think:)

They had several tents set up -- this one had lots of train tables and this electric train.

No joke -- Tyler stayed in this tent for 1.5 hours STRAIGHT.  He'd watch the electric train for a bit, then go play with train tables, then go back, etc.  It was amazing.

Love this pic . . . check out Tyler's tongue . . .

 . . . and check out J's tongue . . . brothers!

T having a delightful conversation with the gentlemen manning the electric train:)

They had inflatables there too -- fun for the older ones!

By the end of the day, Tyler insisted on not SLIDING down the slide . . . oh no, he had to JUMP down the slide!   He definitely made some friends with the high school volunteers:)

Had fun playing the mini golf course too -- just a super, super fun family day!
