Summer Fun!

Tyler is in his second year of T-ball -- not quite as animated as he was last year, but still super fun to watch!

We were lucky enough for Tyler to be on his buddy's team -- who also happens to be our "across the street" neighbor.  With 3 kids playing ball, it has been very convenient at times to get him to/from practice when we can't be in two places at one time!  And there "might" have been some lightsaber fights in the outfield when the two boys are positioned next to each other!

 It's a big deal to play first base at t-ball . . . I still am adjusting to seeing our "lefty" fielding the ball!

Miss Kayla  went with a different team this year  -- which means this is her first experience with kid pitch.  Gotta love that first year!!!  The coach has had all of the girls take a turn pitching -- and Kayla was delighted when it was her turn!!!!  She actually did well -- definitely did NOT get that from her mama!

Between two of the double headers, Tyler decided to try his arm at pitching with Daddy -- what a goober!

We've had A LOT of ran.  Lots of "it's a good day for a puzzle" ideas!  So, grandpa and grandma . . . the puzzle we got at Easter has been completed!  Kayla is by far my most dedicated puzzle putter-together!

Bryan's B-day and Happy Memorial Day!

We celebrated last Thursday in two ways . . .It was Bryan's birthday, and it was the kid's first day of summer!  

On Friday, we made a trip down to SE Kansas to see Great Grandma and Grandpa.  We made our typical trip into McDonalds and had a fun meal together!  We then headed back to their place and enjoyed some of Great Grandma's infamous no-bake cookies!

This was the result of eating Grandma's no bake cookies . . .all of the boys were OUT!  We headed to my parent's place for a quick overnight visit.

Mom's strawberry patch has been most prolific this year . . . so I was the happy recipient of some berries!

The weekend was pretty much rained out -- which has pretty much been the story for this past month.  So, a family game of Monopoly seemed in order!

I think Joshua was just about done here . . . All of his properties had been mortgaged, and he had $5 left to his name:)

We did manage to get some fishing in on Sunday . . . no real luck catching anything, though:(

The neighborhood pool was late opening -- the water was too cold according to city ordinances.  Like I said, it was been cold, rainy and nasty around here:( However, later in the week we happened to see that it was open . .  and the kids INSISTED on going for a swim.  It was FREEZING though!

Last day of school (a wee bit late) and some other belated items!

Last day of school of 2014-2015!  Joshua finished 4th grade, Kayla finished 2nd, and Tyler finished Kindergarten.  They all had a great year of school!

Kayla finished her last year of Sparks -- and completed everything there was to possibly complete!

Joshua completed his 2nd TnT book -- so proud of all of them!

Kayla's 2nd grade class did biography reports -- including a cutout poster board.  She chose Milton Hershey (the girl has a serious sweet tooth!), and since he was from Hershey, PA, it was super fun to reminisce about when we lived very near that in PA years ago!

Last week, Kayla's drama/singing class presented a VERY abbreviated version of Sound of Music --  minimal props, scenes, backdrops, costume changes, etc.  She was Liesel, the 16-yr old daughter of Captain VonTrapp.

Even though she was one of the younger ones in the group, she had a lot of poise and confidence!

She was excited to have HER VERY OWN MICROPHONE!

This past weekend Joshua's baseball team had a tournament.  He pitched several innings and did a  great job -- this mama gets nervous and HATES full counts!!!!

They ended up getting second place -- and after losing in the championship game to a team that didn't exactly display the greatest sportsmanship, it was a good reminder that there are lots of life lessons to be learned through things like baseball!

Finally, the sun did come out, and the warming blankets became fort-building materials!

Several weeks ago we went to Topeka for my niece's 1st birthday -- since my youngest brother and I color coordinated (!) I had to get a quick picture:)

Tyler's kindergarten class had their end of the year music program last week.  Each of the 5 classes dressed up as Jungle Animals -- Tyler's class was Hyenas!

It was cute to see him!  Sobering that our baby is wrapping up kindergarten:(

Tyler is trying to save up for a really big Lego set.  I'm still not sure of his counting system, but somehow he was making tally marks in an effort to count the money in his "save" and "spend" envelopes!

Yesterday, I went with Tyler's class on a field trip to the Red Barn Farm in Weston, MO.

Tyler's group actually got to see the Queen Bee -- it was the first time the "farmer" (tour guide) had ever seen that herself!  It was quite the talk at the dinner table last night!
